A town of champions
Colombes made history with the Yves-du-Manoir Olympic stadium, built for the 1924 Paris Olympic Games. It went on to host the 1938 Football World Cup final, then the Racing 92 rugby club from 2003 to 2017, before welcoming the Olympic flame again a century later, in 2024, with the field hockey events. For two sports fans, cheering on a team in this place so full of memories makes for a first date out of the ordinary.
History and culture in the town centre
In the heart of Colombes, the municipal Museum of Art and History on Rue Gabriel-Péri tells the story of the town, from its village origins to its great sporting past. Nearby, the bell tower of the former Saint-Pierre-Saint-Paul church, whose oldest parts date back to the twelfth century, recalls the Colombes of old. In the evening, L’Avant Seine offers theatre, dance and concerts: a lovely idea for a second date, followed by a drink to share your impressions.
The market, where locals meet
The central market is one of the places where you meet the most locals: people stroll between the stalls, taste and chat. On a Saturday morning, it is the ideal setting for a relaxed date, before extending the walk to the banks of the Seine. On Lyad, members from Colombes and neighbouring towns chat every day, a great way to find someone to share your markets, matches and outings with.
